Fortinet Discovers Denial of Service Vulnerability in Smarter Coffee Maker
Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a denial of service vulnerability on Smarter Coffee Maker SMC10-UK.
Smarter Coffee Maker is a connected coffee maker that end-users control remotely (e.g from a smartphone) and ask it to prepare cups of coffee, warm coffee, etc.
During a contest at the IoT Village of DefCamp 2016, Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs found a quick and easy Denial of Service attack on the connected coffee maker.
Smarter considers the coffee maker must be connected to a secure WiFi only and has not patched the product.
Fortinet reported the vulnerability to Smarter on November 11th, 2016.
Smarter confirmed the vulnerability on February 3rd, 2017.
This vulnerability was discovered by Axelle Apvrille of Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs.
